Daniel
- QIT
- work through Ryan's tutorial series and learn how to add modules
- ideally would like to be able to figure out how to write code in C++ that works with QIT
- DMRI ideas
- generally, want to see how ideas from topology can help us understand DMRI data
- identify singularities of voxel-space (where diffusion is roughly isotropic) and non-singularities (more anisotropic diffusion), build a morse-smale complex, see what this can tell us
- understand the space of curves extracted via tractography:
- once we specify a curve metric this yields a distance matrix between curves
- to visualize this curve space I plan to use some type of spring-mass relaxation method in order to find a suitable embedding of points in a low-dim space that reflects these distances
- persistent homology could inform the construction of a new algorithm for clustering tracts
- explore local curve space by perturbing seed points then looking at relative change in curve space
- GBM application with Gilbert
- see how top tools can be used to measure inter-voxel coh from GBM scans
- hopefully there is some relationship between "topolgical breaks" and tumor infiltration boundary
- look at brain oxygenation levels in relation to top structures
- write semester project proposal
- people in applied topology
- attend the applied top seminars
- interact more with Isaac and Melissa
- get a sense of theoretical problems that are "hard"/(not well understood) in applying persistent hom
- figure out the details of math dept program with Jeff
- Classes
