Troubleshoot CavePainting
So, Cavepainting's acting up? You have a few options.
Check Your Process
Make sure that you're following the procedure to run CavePainting from the kiosk exactly.
Solve It Yourself
The most useful fix is to simply restart Cavepainting, as follows:
- Quit Cavepainting by tapping the skull and crossbones (maybe a couple times) in the kiosk browser interface
- Start your program as in run CavePainting from the kiosk
This should solve most problems, such as freezes or tracking problems.
You may also run into a problem where only the front wall updates or a freeze happens after saving a file. This is likely to be a crash of the VRG3D server on the kiosk. If this is the case, there will be a Windows error message window that needs to be closed, as follows:
- Swipe left to right on the kiosk until you reach the desktop
- Check for an error window
- Close the window
- Restart Cavepainting as described above
Please let us know if you encounter this bug, as we'd like to squash it!
