Sometimes even non-interactive programs, like diffusion data batch processing, can be very resource-intensive. We have a couple different options for big iron to throw at such tasks.
sixg
The graphics group owns its own box with six gigs of RAM and six gigahertz total of processor speed, hence the name "sixg". There's no special mechanism for submitting jobs; simply ssh sixg and run commands as you normally would.

CS Department Compute Grid
The CS department runs a huge cluster of machines that are managed by the Sun Grid Engine. Eventually all the idle machines in the department will be added to the resource pool that the SGE can assign jobs to. Check out the CS department's documentation to learn more about the grid.
