*[http://portal.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=26115.26124 Applying cognitive psychology to user-interface design] Marshall, Nelson, and Gardiner, 1987.  Dated, but sounds very relevant.  Contains a chapter called "Design Guidelines."  Unfortunately, I have not been able to find this book anywhere yet or the text available online.  Will keep looking, but this may not be readable by Friday.

  • Applying cognitive psychology to user-interface design Marshall, Nelson, and Gardiner, 1987. Dated, but sounds very relevant. Contains a chapter called "Design Guidelines." Unfortunately, I have not been able to find this book anywhere yet or the text available online. Will keep looking, but this may not be readable by Friday.
