- Ritter, F. E., & Young, R. M. (2001). Embodied models as simulated users: Introduction to this special issue on using cognitive models to improve interface design. International Journal of Human-Computer Studies, 55, 1-14
This will give us an idea of where the field is, or was 8 years ago. (Adam)
This is a battery of questions, some of which are distracters, that measure user affect ("perceived quality"). This battery has been run against a bunch of standard applications and so when the test is administered the scores can be normalized and compared relative to a known range. (OWNER: Andrew Bragdon)
- The role of cognitive theory in human–computer interface. Chalmers, Patricia A, 2003. E J Kalafarski 13:44, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- Actability Principles in Theory and Practice. Agerfalk, Par J, 2003. (Only section 2.1 is relevant to us, but it makes a cursory effort at parsing some common principles out of design guidelines. Worth noting, but there is probably no need to read this paper.) E J Kalafarski 13:44, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- Acting on a visual world: The role of multimodal perception in HCI. Wolff, F., Angelia, A., Romary, L. (1998). From: AAAI Technical Report WS-98-09. (Jon)
- HCI Course at UF Benjamin Lok. This is a course I took when at UF. The slides and links might be useful for those wanting a more of a background in HCI. (Gideon)
